Frontier Youth follow three young people growing up in Agua Prieta, Mexico, and Douglas, Arizona — neighboring border towns divided by a steel border fence. The film transcends political debates, focusing instead on the personal stories of its protagonists, each of whom is profoundly marked by American immigration and border policies. Through their perspectives, the film examines the challenges of bi-cultural identity; as security along the border continues to tighten, they enter adulthood with inseparable ties to both sides.
